Atypical presentation of melorheostosis with soft tissues involvement: a case report

Abstract Background Melorheostosis is a skeletal disorder giving rise to dripping wax appearance. The exact cause still unclear, and the diagnosis always challenging due its wide differential diagnoses. Soft tissue involvement of melorheostosis has been reported in previous literatures but it rare phenomenon. Case presentation A 10-year-old child with presented hematuria. Ultrasonography (USG) identified cystic lesion right hemipelvis adjacent urinary bladder which was initially regarded as an ovarian cyst. Computed tomography (CT) confirmed fusiform internal iliac artery aneurysm, well multiple retroperitoneal lower limb capillary hemangiomas uterine involvement. Hence, final atypical vascular malformations. patient managed conservatively Sirolimus therapy for anomalies. Conclusion Albeit soft tissues, careful search malformation recommended melorheostosis.
